2025, February 18th.
today is always shifting. in this dinky moment, i am watching a video I never shared with others, it was in a phase when I was de-dancing my body cultivating access to a broader, deeper, more authentic expression of humanity in my then perceived role as a shamanic cultural practitioner. I called the creation, Joy Blossom Yoga and Intuit Technique, and it opened up deeper layers of trauma to process as well as led me to additional training in healing modalities to tend my personal space, my family space, and the collective space, always in grateful and humble service to earth. I wonder if there is value in re-viving this, and teaching it.
In watching this simple series, it was a flow of classic yoga poses, but approached in a sustainable flow for preparing the body for sacred expression through dance, that could be, quite physical. The discovery was a way to build heat, and to warm up the body, quickly and efficiently, at a safe and sustainable rate.
Fold the joints: one works with riding energy using momentum and intention to flow through forward fold, updog, warrior 1, then into a short and sweet spinal twist, and using minimal effort. Just the balance of the bones, the soft energy of warm welcoming opening hello good day energy of gratitude to the body, and riding this flow with no effort, no force, little pause, flow.
Opening into the body: as the body warms, there is connection with the musculature and tendon body, pressing very gently and respectfully into this edge.
At the end of the short sequence: there is a rolling over the hip joints, a settling into shavasana, but from this place of rest, using one adjective of exploration, releasing into a process I call bodytalk, where you let the body move the body, not the brain with linear left side of the brain directing. One releases to the deeper wisdom of the body and allows the deeper wisdom to awaken the creative body, and other connections for the creative intentional healing body work that is in store for the day.
