Integrative Arts

Throughtout my career, I really leaned into experimentation, ranging from performance art excursions in museums, to fiddling with video editing software. In this project, I set the intention to integrate mediums in the exploration process, and to work with improvisations, to see if something complete could be created from these videos. My collaborators at that time were Cecily Stewart and Tina Corbett. Two brilliant women. As I revisited some of these, the first thought was, wild. The second thought was, how obvious the trauma stories, and how, that will come out of the body to be witnessed and alchemically transmuted into an expression, and in so doing, relieve societal pressure with regard to whatever the root of this is. The intention, always, healing for myself, my ʻohana, and the world. AND to have fun along the way. I really miss dancing as I write this! I realize that now.

In the present moment (2023), Iʻve been experimenting with use of AI, ChatGPT and Adobe Firefly Beta, drawing my own conclusions. A paper in this.

Experimentation at the Santa Barbara Skate Park. I did not realize my dream of choreographing a work here.

Mother Nature Movement Study with Joanna Nobbe

The task here, was, if you werenʻt dancing, you were archiving with a flip video, if you werenʻt dancing, and you werenʻt archiving, you were drawing the movement on paper. Such fun!
